The Pineapple Green-Cheek Conure is another beautiful color mutation of the Green-Cheek Conure (Pyrrhura molinae), closely related to the Yellow-Sided variety but with some distinct and often softer coloration.
Size: Roughly 10 inches (25 cm) from head to tail.
Coloration:
Head: Pale tan or cream, often lighter than other Green-Cheek mutations.
Cheeks: Bright green.
Chest and belly: A mix of yellow, orange, and red, like the Yellow-Sided, but typically with a more pastel or diluted tone.
Back and wings: Soft green, sometimes with a more olive hue.
Tail feathers: Typically bright red rather than dark maroon.
Eyes: White eye-rings with reddish or brown irises, often giving them a softer look.
Overall look: More creamy, pastel, or peachy than the more vivid Yellow-Sided mutation.
Very similar to other Green-Cheek Conures:
Affectionate, intelligent, and curious.
Enjoys socializing and bonding with humans.
Can be trained to do tricks and may mimic some sounds.
Slightly more mellow in demeanor compared to some other conures, though this can vary by individual.
Lifespan: 20–30 years with proper care.
Needs mental stimulation, toys, and regular interaction.
A balanced diet (pellets, fresh fruits, vegetables) is essential.
